KALONA NEWCOMB

Executive Director

Kalona holds a bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA). As a certified speech-language pathology assistant (SLPA) and the Director of Therapy Services for a private school for children with Autism (K-12+), Kalona has worked professionally with individuals with developmental disabilities for over a decade. However, her passion for this work runs even deeper, having been immersed in the field from a young age as the daughter of a special education teacher.

Since the inception of Empowered Adult Services, Kalona has been an integral part of the team, contributing in various roles throughout the organization over the past few years. With a strong background in speech therapy, she is a dedicated advocate for communication and socialization. Kalona is passionate about creating a program where adult members can thrive in a safe, supportive environment—fostering growth, learning, and lasting friendships while enjoying enriching experiences in the community.
